Landmarks - Wollongong Art Gallery - 2009

The exhibition Landmarks came out of a year-long residency at Wollongong Art Gallery. It began with a fascination with the marks of habitation that humans and animals make on the ground, both on and beneath the surface. Plough marks, ant nests, seasnail tracks, open-cut mines, paved roads were all of interest. The residency occurred at the height of the Millenium drought and the 2009 Black Saturday Victorian bushfires, prompting a key work of this exhibition, Forecast.
